What is an LVDS

LVDS: Low Voltage Differential Signaling is a Differential signal technology of Low Voltage Low pendency,

Typical signal swing of 350MV has a very low power consumption, which enables the signal to be transmitted at a rate of several hundred Mbps on differential PCB line pair or balanced cable.

Its low voltage amplitude and low current drive output achieve low noise and low power consumption.

As a result,LVDS is a very efficient technology. LVDS transmission support rates are generally above 155Mbps (about 77MHZ).

Transmission of LVDS signal

LVDS signal transmission is generally composed of three parts: differential signal transmitter, differential signal interconnect and differential signal receiver.

Differential signal transmitter

Convert non-balanced TTL signals into balanced LVDS signals. This is usually done by an IC, such as DS90C031

Differential receiver

The balanced LVDS signal is converted into non-balanced TTL signal. This is usually done by an IC, such as DS90C032

Differential signal interconnector

Includes connection line (cable or PCB routing), terminal matching resistance. According to IEEE, the resistance is 100 ohms. We usually choose 100,120 euros.
